Weiss' Dreamscape (unofficial) was a world within Weiss Schnee's mind created by a Nightmare. It was accessed through Shion Zaiden's Semblance, Dream, which allows those close to Weiss to enter the dream. It was destroyed when Team RWBY defeated Negative Weiss, Negative Blake, and the Nightmares.

It served as the main setting for the original story of RWBY: Ice Queendom.

Description[]

Weiss' dream world appeared to be a Mantle-like dystopian city, surrounded by a tundra similar to that of Solitas. It had a vivid purple sky filled with shattered-looking Schnee emblems. On the outskirts of the city were train tracks, as well as a valley mainly controlled by the White Fang.

Within the city, there were many sprawling brick streets, filled with statues with a likeness to Jacques Schnee. The city was inhabited by both workers of the Schnee Dust Company and unidentified "shadow people" (with no Faunus included within the city). The city itself was surrounded by a maze decorated by vines, working to block out intruders.

There were multiple layers to the city, each one surrounded by an impassable wall. At the center of the city was a tower with a statue resembling Nicholas Schnee on the top. Within this tower was a room resembling Team RWBY's dorm room acting as a prison cell, as well as rooms acting as a recreation of the Schnee Manor. Weiss also had a meeting room where many of the Dream Actors of her family reside.

History[]

First Visit[]

Following Weiss falling victim to the Nightmare Grimm, Ruby entered the dreamscape to try and free Weiss as well as locate the Nightmare. She found herself on the outskirts of the city near train tracks, and witnessed the White Fang derailing an SDC train. She soon made her way into the city using her Petal Burst and got into a scuffle with some security robots. She escaped using coins supplied by Shion's Semblance, and explored the city more until being confronted by Weiss, and was thoroughly defeated and forced to escape the dream.

Second Visit[]

Ruby escaped from the dream following her encounter with Weiss, and regrouped with the rest of Team RWBY outside of the dream. After Shion's Aura recharges, they invite Ruby, along with Blake and Yang, back into the dream. Upon reentering, the dream seemed to reset, with the White Fang yet again attacking the SDC train. Ruby, Blake, and Yang navigated back into the city and find out that in this version of the dream, Ruby and Yang are supposed to be arrested in the tower. They surrendered themselves to the Schnee robots to gain access to the tower, and upon entering their cell, they found a replica of their Beacon relic. Blake and Ruby leave to go deeper into the tower to search for the Nightmare, and encountered Negative Weiss with an army of robots, and once again are forced to fight her. Blake tried to lead Weiss away, while Ruby and Yang (who was summoned via a marker) progressed further into the dream and find the Nightmare. Negative Weiss protects the Nightmare, and the rest of Team RWBY are overpowered and forced to retreat back to the real world once more.

Third Visit[]

Shion warns them that they only have one last safe chance to re-enter the dream, and they come up with a strategy to alter the dream somewhat. They entered back into the dreamscape along with Jaune, who had a sort of an immunity to the Nightmare due to his previous possession.

When Ruby, Blake, Yang, and Jaune arrived in Weiss’ Dreamscape for the third and final time, they hijacked a Schnee Dust train and defeat all of the White Fang Goons in order to change the dream in a positive way and get into the city faster. After they arrived, Jaune found the Sillies’ prison and got inside the prison to save them. Dream Actor Pyrrha takes Jaune and shows him the yellow relic. Upon taking the relic, Jaune accidentally released all the Little Weiss from the prison. Later, Jaune gave Ruby the relic that they needed to find the Nightmare’s location. He led the army of Little Weiss along with Dream actors of Ren and Nora to fight Negative Weiss’ robot army. Suddenly most of the Little Weiss turned into giants and wreak havoc upon the city. It later become worse as Dream actors Ren and Nora became corrupted by the Nightmare and started attacking Jaune and dream actor Pyrrha until Negative Weiss saved them. Afterwards, Negative Weiss awakened Big Nicholas from his slumber to protect the city and take care of the Sillies.

Blake and Yang buy some time for Ruby to find a safe checkpoint for them to get back to the mansion awhile they keep Big Nicholas distracted. Meanwhile, Big Nicholas rounded up all of the Little Weiss, turned the giant ones back to normal with his laser eyes, and returned them back to their prison. Negative Weiss summoned armor on one of the Jacques statues and turned him into an Arma Gigas. Both Negative Weiss and Jacques defeat the Dream Actors Ren and Nora giants and change them beck before she used her transportation glyphs to send them back.

Ruby manages to secure a checkpoint for Blake and Yang and use her coin to create a marker door for them. Negative Weiss finds Jaune and dream actor Pyrrha in the city and easily defeats him, sending him along with dream actor Pyrrha back to prison. Negative Weiss announced through her glyphs that all prisoners will be locked up forever. The Nightmare, following the removal of the red and yellow relics, took over the previously occupied areas, freezing Dopey and Sleepy Klein and advancing on Jaune and the Sillies. Jaune used his second coin to create a marker door to escape from the Nightmare’s vines. He managed to save dream actor Pyrrha and ten Little Weiss, and is forced to abandon dream actors Ren and Nora, and other Little Weiss who are trapped by the Nightmare’s vines. They took shelter in the Schnee Dust train where Jaune’s broadsword was stuck on top of the train to conceal their presences from the Grimm.

As Ruby, Blake, and Yang continue to travel into the Dreamscape’s core, Jaune tried to warn Ruby about the Nightmare and Weiss’ heart resisting. However, the Nightmare becames self-aware and interrupted their connection by freezing Ruby’s scroll. This left Ruby, Blake, and Yang in the dark. When they arrived at the Nightmare’s location again, Negative Weiss appeared with Jacques' Dream Actor and fought them, banishing Yang and Blake outside the kingdom and overpowering Ruby, destroying the second relic. Ruby is forced to retreat again and encounters Jaune, who used his last coin to find her.

Ruby used her second coin to create another marker door back to the train to regroup. After Jaune informed Ruby about the purpose for the relics, Ruby fell into depression and blamed herself for not saving Weiss. Ruby’s negative emotions resulted in the Nightmare possessing her as well and she fell into a deep sleep. During this dream, the original Weiss visits her due to the Nightmare's connection and reassures Ruby before returning back to her own dreamscape.

Somewhere outside of the kingdom, Blake and Yang found each other and realized they were sent to an abandoned mansion where all banished residents are kept. After Negative Weiss believed she “saved” her kingdom, Doc Klein suggests she should enter eternal sleep. She agreed with him and decided to destroy the third relic inside her ice coffin.

Jaune manages to save Ruby by touching her infected hand with his broadsword temporarily. Ruby and Jaune then decide to come up with another plan to get back to the mansion by using the Schnee Dust train. Inside of the mansion, Blake and Yang find the final relic and unintentionally release all the White Fang goons. Blake then comes up with another plan to defeat Negative Weiss, but it is a dangerous one.

As the result of all three relics, the shadow people stopped moving and the Nightmare's vines spread across the kingdom, with the dream actors who were trapped by the vines completely frozen. Negative Weiss begins her eternal sleep, and most residents of the dream follow suit, including Whitley, Jacques, Doc Klein, and Willow who were completely frozen. When Ruby and Jaune proceed with their plan however, Nega-Weiss wakes up, with Jacques and Whitley soon following.

Ruby and Jaune have the SDC train create new rails all the way up to the core of Weiss' Dreamscape, and many of Weiss' followers try to stop them, kickstarting a major battle. Soon enough, Blake's plan takes effect as she is possessed by the Nightmare, creating a link between Weiss' Dreamscape and hers. Massive red cracks open up in the sky around the mansion, where White Fang goons are released followed by Negative Blake who starts fighting Negative Weiss. During the commotion, Ruby snuck off to fight the Nightmare for a final time, while Yang distracted Big Nicholas and Jaune and the Dream Actors fight Jacques.

Yang struggled against Big Nicholas, his sheer size giving him an advantage, until Yang activated her Semblance destroying an arm of the statue and then destroying its entire head, causing the statue to fall off the tower. Jaune fights against Jacques, and with the help of the Sillies, he destroys the armor and the statue inside. Negative Weiss, still fighting Negative Blake, sees the collapse of Big Nicholas and blames it on her, while Nega-Blake accuses Nega-Weiss of hating Faunus, which she denies. She eventually realizes that Blake is possessed by something, and questions her own existence. Meanwhile, Ruby fights Weiss' Nightmare and discovers it in her shadow, but is captured, and finally defeats it unknowingly with her Silver Eyes.

With Weiss' Nightmare defeated, Negative Weiss ceases to exist, and Weiss wakes up in control of her body. Ruby briefly converses with Weiss' consciousness, and they accept each other as friends. Ruby is transported using a glyph to where the real Weiss is, and Yang arrives on the scene, the three preparing to fight Negative Blake. Upon attacking her, Blake is able to use a coin to free herself, and the four fight Nega-Blake, her Nightmare now exposed. The team uses a combined effort to finish Nega-Blake off, with Blake getting the final blow. The Nightmare tries to fight Team RWBY, but cannot stand up to the four of them together, and departs the dream, before being captured by Shion as it was before.

With no Nightmares remaining in the Dreamscape, it begins to crumble with nothing sustaining it anymore. Team RWBY regroups with Jaune, as the Sillies fade away. Weiss soon realizes that the Dreamscape she's in is her own, not Blake's, and is embarrassed that she was possessed. Yang, happy with how things turned out, uses the final coin to leave the dream. As they leave, the dream shatters, and Team RWBY wakes up back in Beacon Academy.

Locations[]

City[]

Lower-Class District[]

A district where all human men worked to ship out different types of Dust.

Middle-Class District[]

The middle-class district[1] was where humans hanged out to shop varies in different stores. One of the locations had a prison where all Sillies were kept them from causing chaos. All residents of this district were shadow people.

High-Class District[]

An area similar to the middle-class district, with more shopping areas. It contained a large chessboard-like field that connected to the entrance of the tower.

Tower[]

Big Nicholas[]

Main article: Nicholas Schnee (Dream Actor)

A large golden statue of Nicholas Schnee that the majority of the tower was located within. It could also be activated and fend off threats to the city. Inside of Big Nicholas' head shows a faint memory of young Weiss and the real Nicholas Schnee seen in "Light in Shadows".

Team RWBY's Dorm Room[]

It looked nearly identical to Team RWBY's room except it had a variety of different trophies in display.

Outside of the Wall[]

Starting Point[]

A frozen lake surrounded by a tundra where all Lucid Dreamers start upon entering the dream. It was on top of a steep snowy hill, requiring those who sought to go further to sled or bike down it.

Train Tracks[]

A set of railroads in which Schnee Dust Company trains would occasionally pass through. It led straight to the city, in which an entrance may open if granted clearance. According to Negative Weiss, it passed through a valley that the White Fang controlled.

Abandoned Mansion[]

A location outside of the city where all banished residents were locked up by Bashful Klein. It's implied to be where the White Fang and other Faunus were kept.

Relics[]

There were four relics within Weiss’ Dreamscape that were located in separate areas. They were the key to finding the Nightmare’s location along with the real Weiss. However, if the relics were taken out by their locations and destroyed, the Dreamscape would become unstable and dangerous due to the Nightmare taking full control of the Dreamscape as seen in “Where You Belong".

  • The first relic was red and located in Team RWBY’s room on top of one of the bunk beds. It was destroyed by the Nightmare’s vines in “Do You Have a Plan?“.
  • The second relic was white and located inside an ice coffin with crystal apples in Negative Weiss’ main base. It was destroyed by Negative Weiss in order to enter eternal sleep in “Where You Belong”.
  • The third relic was yellow and located in the Sillies’ prison that Dream Actor Pyrrha, Nora and Ren were kept. It was destroyed by Negative Weiss in “Where You Belong”.
  • The fourth and last relic was black and located in the abandoned mansion inside a room with the original White Fang logo on the front door in "My Dream, Your Dream". This relic was the only one not destroyed from either the Nightmare or Negative Weiss.

Relic Removal Effects[]

  • The effects of removing the red relic were unknown.
  • When the white relic was removed/destroyed, it allowed Negative Weiss to enter her eternal slumber, and freeze the inhabitants of the Schnee meeting room.
  • When the black relic was removed from its cage, it would release all the tamed White Fang goons.
  • When the yellow relic was removed from its cage, it would release all Little Weiss from their slumber, and eventually turn them into monsters without the relic's protection.

Subconscious Item[]

Weiss’ subconscious, taking the form of Weiss’ songbird dress was located in the Schnee opera theater. It could be used to locate the Nightmare’s real body in a person’s shadow. After Ruby defeats the Nightmare, Weiss’ subconscious repairs itself from the damage that the Nightmare caused. This also implies that if Weiss’ subconscious was completely destroyed by the Nightmare, she would have died in her sleep.

Dream Actor Appearances[]

In Weiss’ Dreamscape, the people she knew took on appearances. Whether it was the same as before or monstrous depended on her perspective of them.

Good Aspects[]

If she had people she got to know greatly and grew fond of, they retained their normal appearance except with different outfits like Ruby, Blake, Yang, and Team JNPR.

Nightmare Aspects[]

If there were people Weiss had a distance relationship with or something she feared, they instead took on inhuman or inanimate object appearances. For example, Whitley took the form of a bat, Jacques as a AI, Willow as a shadow, Winter as a book, Nicholas as a statue guardian, and White Fang goons as Faunus Grimm hybrid. The only exception was Klein due to having multiple personalities which were split into seven forms.

Faceless Aspects[]

If there were people Weiss barely remembered or met one time, they became faceless and had their color palette swapped or altered like Cardin and his team.

Trivia[]

  • Most appearances of the Schnee emblem in the Dreamscape used an altered version of the emblem, with a diagonal slice cutting through the center of the snowflake. The significance of this is currently unknown.
  • After the first and second reset, the Dream versions of Cardin and his team were nowhere to be seen since their only appearance was during Ruby’s first visit.
  • The four relics within the Dreamscape represented the colors of Team RWBY.
