But yes, as you might have guessed, certain developments within the RWBY storyline have made me rather displeased. Namely, shipping. Why, you ask? Paranoia. I'm seeing warning signs of Arrested Development's Festival of Awkwardness, Archer's gratuitous amounts of sexual tension, or even worse (shudder)... The Legend of Korra's two-season long Love Quadrangle of Catastrophe. I will least four characters (in ascending order) who have particularly stoked my ire.
Pyrrha: Really more the butt of this drama than anything else. I can forgive her not being more forthright with Jaune, because she's probably got a fair amount of conflicting emotions. Still, I wouldn't mind her actually being honest with him.
Weiss: Given her line about Jaune 'only wanting her for her title', I'm actually a little more sympathetic to her than I was originally. She's probably steeled herself against advances, since she probably expects that kind of thing--though her defenses are way down against Neptune. Still, I think she doesn't really give Jaune enough credit, as he's a nice guy. An idiot, but a nice guy still.
Blake: Damn. I used to think Weiss was the resident bitch of team RWBY, but now I'm beginning to have second thoughts. She seems to have little to no regard for hurting someone's feelings, even Sun's--and I'm gonna be honest; it actually hit kind of hard when she shot him down like that. She's not quite Katara territory, but she's getting there.
Jaune: Ye gods, where to begin? I'll give him points for tenacity... and that's it. I get it's a common joke for the guy to have a serious crush on a girl who can't stand him, though be totally oblivious to the girl who wants him; but he's taken it a little past the point of humor, if you ask me. Perhaps I'm just irritated because he can't take a hint, but Pyrrha's hints--goddamn, her whole personality around him--are pretty thinly veiled. To quote the Nostalgia Critic: "Oh my god, do you need landing lights to the bed!? She wants to sleep with you!!"
EDIT: I'm just referring to my reactions to the series itself, not anything non-canon (cast interviews, livestream, etc). Also, It is not my intention to start naval combat.
