"True Blue Friend" is the second RWBY Chibi skit of the animated anthology Neon Konbini and the sixty-sixth episode of RWBY Chibi. It premiered for Rooster Teeth FIRST members on June 3rd, 2021 as the last segment of the episode "Walko". It later aired as it's own episode on the Rooster Teeth Animation channel on March 26th, 2023. It is also included on the Volume 9 Bluray release on October 3rd, 2023.
Summary[]
Coco Adel tries to cheer up Velvet Scarlatina, who is feeling blue. While her attempts do nothing to cheer her up, she eventually decides to comfort her by feeling blue with her.
Transcript[]
In a space of pure whiteness, the giant blocky title and a certain rose emblem drop from the sky to the ground, where the four miniaturized members of Team RWBY pop out from behind it to smile, wave and adopt poses for the audience while an unseen speaker announces the show as: "RWBY CHIBI"!
Coco Adel walks on the sidewalk in Vale and finds Velvet Scarlatina sitting all by herself.
Coco: Hey, Bun bun. What's wrong?
Velvet: Oh nothing... I'm just kinda blue today.
Coco: You are? What do you need? Is Cardin picking on you again? I will track him down and let him have it!
Velvet: No, it's not that. Just feeling a little glum is all.
Coco: You need some candy? How about flowers? Balloons?
Velvet: I appreciate it, Coco, but sometimes I just have to ride these feelings out and wait a little while until I go feel right again. It's no big deal.
Velvet wipes a tear out from her eye.
Coco: Man, I hate it when there's nothing I can do to help. (sits down with Velvet) Well, I guess I wouldn't mind waiting with you. If that's cool.
Velvet giggles and scoots close to Coco.
Velvet: It's exactly what I needed. Thank you, Coco.
Coco: Anytime, Bun bun. Anytime.
