I just realised through discussion with other people that Sacrifice is an Ozpin-curse foreshadowing.

Plus other lines, such as faith in ancient ways, showing 'them' Gods and Deities, etc.
Which got me thinking...what if Sacrifice is actually an Oscar song, and it's singing about an Oscar who takes Ozpin's knowledge and decides he won't be doing it the way Ozpin has done things for a thousand years. An Oscar who decides that he won't be another person to fail in the long line of Cursed people, and does things his way and refuses to let Ozpin take over.
There's also the line about "Truth witll rise, revealed by mirrored eyes", which sounds to me like Ruby would possibly be a catalyst/inspiration for Oscar to do so in this situation.
It's spitballing, pure and utter speculation, but the Ozpin Curse foreshadowing can't be denied.
Hmm, interesting theory. And Oscar deciding he won't be another Ozpin and do things his own way. I do believe I like it. And it could very well be the right thing to do, Ozpin's dire need for secrecy, along with his seemingly unfathomable passiveness, backfired tremendously during the Beacon Arc. If he'd taken more decisive action, not on Ironwood's scale but more than he did, then Beacon might not have fallen. He could've easily learned the CCT had been compromised and taken steps to get the Black Queen Virus out of the system before it did serious harm. And once he learned Amber's assailants were in Beacon he could've had them apprehended. But he didn't, and thus Beacon fell. I mean Ozpin talks about all the mistakes he's made, but I wonder if he's actually learned from them. If he hasn't, then he's doomed to repeat them. That might be a big plus in Oscar's favor if he vowed not to repeat Ozpin's mistakes. And I'd applaud him for it.
