The Red Prince was originally the Red King from the Fairy Tale, The Girl Who Fell Through The World. As the Red King, he played a game against Alyx and was defeated by her by cheating. Due to having lost against her, the Red King was forced to help her return home by providing her with assistance on her journey to the Tree. Due to having lost and lost through the latter’s cheating, the Red King was stated by the Curious Cat to have become unsure regarding his “role” and unstable due to having been beaten in such a way, eventually causing him to decide to go to the Tree and go through Ascension. Resulting in the Red King becoming the Red Prince, who was now much more inclined to use any means necessary to win his game, even through dishonorable means.
