Lieutenant Colonel Olive Harper is a member of the Atlas Military introduced in RWBY: Arrowfell. During the events of the game, she is revealed to be a mole in the military for the conspiracy against General James Ironwood led by Bram Thornmane.
While she helped Thornmane's conspiracy due to believing it was the only way to resolve the issues between Atlas and Mantle, she later felt regret for her actions and decided to turn herself in to atone for her actions.
With the destruction of Atlas in “The Final Word”, her current status is unknown.
Appearance[]
Harper appears to be young woman with short black hair, olive eyes, and has a light brown complexion skin. She wears a standard Atlas military uniform except she wears a sleeveless collar top with black arm warmers.
Personality[]
Harper is shown at first to be similar to other members of the Atlas Military, being focused on the task at hand and having a calm and collected demeanor.
She was also shown to be skilled at manipulation such as when she sold out her fellow co-conspirators to deflect suspicion off of her and Thornmane and when she tricked Team RWBY to board a train with hostile Atlesian forces that was actually planned to crash and get them out of the way of the conspiracy.
Once she learned that Thornmane lied to her about his plan being for the sake of the Kingdom however, Olive was shown to be remorseful for trusting and helping him out despite the fact that she would lose her rank in re military after her betrayal was discovered. Due to this, she decided to turn herself in for her crimes in order to atone.
History[]
At some point after Harper joined the Atlas Military, Bram Thornmane convinced her to join his conspiracy against General James Ironwood and act as his mole in the military. She accepted, believing that it might be the only way to deal with the situation plaguing the Kingdom at the time. As she does this, she also helps provide Atlas Military technology to mobster Amoncio Glass so he can help distribute the orbs that could attract the Grimm.
RWBY: Arrowfell[]
Harper is first seen meeting with Team RWBY about the mysterious device they handed over to Bram Thornmane as she stated that they made the right choice to hand it over. She also assured the team that she would do a full investigation into the mysterious device with enough time. As she does this, she tells the team to help out the Ace Operatives with their missions for the day.
Once Team RWBY help the Ace Operatives with their missions, Harper informs them about their lead target behind the orbs being Amoncio Glass, who used the southern coast Dust Mine of Solitas in a weapon furnishing operation to arm mobsters around the capital of Atlas. She also tells them that he would likely be in downtown Atlas.
After Team RWBY defeat Glass, Harper informs Ironwood about what transpired as Team RWBY return to his office with Thornmane there as well. As they discuss what they know, they believe that Glass had someone in the military provide him with the military technology, though Harper hides that she was the person responsible. They also believe that the person extracting emotions from people to power the orbs is Mantle's most celebrated union leader Hanlon Fifestone and task Team RWBY with dealing with him.
Following Fifestone's arrest, Harper and Ironwood inform Team RWBY about Grimm attacks happening all over Solitas and believe that he has activated about four hidden orbs. After telling them to help deal with the situation and find the four orbs, Harper is seen wondering about something before Team RWBY talk to her again and she informs them to deal with the situation as they just discussed.
After Team RWBY destroy all four orbs, Harper and Ironwood inform them that they realized that Fifestone wasn't the true mastermind behind the orbs and that the real mastermind had set up a hideout in the east of the tundra. Because of this, they planned on sending an entire Atlesian Military battalion by train from Gehen Station and wanted Team RWBY to accompany them on the train she helped set up for the operation. Once they board the train however, the Atlas Soldiers, Atlesian Knight-200s and the Atlesian Paladin-290s onboard act hostile to Team RWBY, with Atlas mobster goons onboard the train as well. In reality, Harper set the team up and wanted to get them in the middle of nowhere. After Ruby Rose realized Harper betrayed them, the Atlesian forces on the train get off the train right before it crashes close to ruins with Team BRIR waiting to dispose of them.
With her role in the conspiracy revealed to Team RWBY and the Atlas Military, she and Thornmane retreat to Fort Arrowfell in order to prepare for their attempt to arrest them. Though when she encounters Team RWBY again however, she is shown to be remorseful due to learning that Thornmane lied to her about his motives being for the sake of the Kingdom and was just about petty revenge due to never being chosen as a member of the Ace Operatives. After telling Team RWBY about how she helped him and that she planned to turn herself in to atone for her crimes, she gives them four skill points to help them in their fight against Thornmane before leaving.
Powers and Abilities[]
Harper was originally a Lieutenant Colonel in the Atlesian Military, a high-ranking position proving she was an elite member. She was also shown to be capable of using her position to siphon Atlas Military technology through to Glass without Ironwood's knowledge until it was too late.
