The Battle of Atlas[]
Having finally grown exasperated with the repeated failures of her subordinates, Salem decides to acquire the Relics herself, creating an army of Grimm and Monstra to serve as her mobile base.
Monstra arrives in Atlas
When Salem first arrives in Atlas, she is shown to be standing atop the Monstra, casting a shadow over the city.
Soon after, Cinder Fall and Neopolitan arrive in Monstra's landing pad. Cinder gives the Relic of Knowledge to Salem and takes full credit for retrieving it, much to Neo's annoyance. After some teasing from Tyrian Callows, Cinder introduces Neo to Salem, referring to her as an asset, which once again upsets Neo. Soon after, Emerald Sustrai, Mercury Black and Hazel Rainart arrive. Emerald is delighted to see Cinder, but Cinder harshly shuts her down. When Cinder declares that she will take the Winter Maiden power from Penny Polendina, Salem reminds her that she is merely a pawn who is not to act without Salem's orders. Later, Salem summons The Hound from within Monstra to hunt down a certain someone.
Monstra's body dissolving
Salem and Hazel later use Monstra's torture chamber to interrogate Oscar Pine. Afterwards, Salem uses Monstra to spew Grimm Liquid into a river following to Mantle. After the Grimm Liquid succeeds in breaking through Atlas's Hard Dust Light Shield, Salem has Monstra land on Atlas before unleashing more Grimm Liquid to summon more Grimm. In order to escape from Monstra, Oscar uses The Long Memory, taking out the Grimm and temporarily destroying Salem.
Monstra's body was so large that even after being destroyed it still took at least an hour for it to dissolve, creating a large area of black smoke particles. After Atlas fell Monstra's body is no longer seen, having dissolved completely.
