  • Ha... haha. ha. oh wow. Sorry, my brain is mush. Thanks.

Also apparently... "modificated" is a word? Huh?

      Loading editor
    • I wouldn't trust an unreferenced wiktionary word. Modificated isn't in the Merriam-Webster, OxfordLearnersDictionaries.com, or Lexico.com (powered by Oxford).

In fact, the only place I can find it is webster-dictionary.net, where it only means "to qualify". And looking up the word modificate on wiktionary tells me it's an obsolete word nowadays.

It might have been a word at some point, but as language evolved it's fallen very much to the wayside and is no longer in use.

    • Idk. I googled it now and this popped up. (Still have no idea what my brain was doing)

I wonder if anyone can add anything to wiktionary.

Yeah, wow. Sorry again. I think I shouldn't be editing for a few hours. Maybe rest a bit.

    • Lol, it's fine. Your brain porbably went "she made modifications, therefore it's been modificated!" The logic is there.

It's better than me earlier today. I meant to say "take five snapshots" and ended up saying "take snive fapshots". I very quickly changed the subject.

  • Considering his threads are pretty much a useless cycle of annoyance, confusion, ungratefullness and ultimaelly irrelevance, should Sonic perhaps receive an official warning or something like that? Granted, I don’t think its officially against then rules to ask for help with such issues, but...Well, you’ve read what his threads tend to be like.

  • I just found someone's idea for improving Hazel by making one small change. Gretchen had silver eyes.

Kinda puts things into a different light. Ozpin is totally capable of advancing a girl by two years and letting her go on missions she's not supposed to. And since they are twins it would mean that she was advanced while he was left behind. And died. Puts more weight to "her being taken from him". (then again she could have just not accepted his offer) (also we don't know if silver eyes are a dominant or recessive trait)

Just thought that was an interesting theory. And apparently they say in the commentary that there's more to the story anyway.

    • I have my own fix to Hazel’s story, but i’m not sure anyone would like it. Hell, i’m not too confident in it myself.

    • Personally, I think the least his story needs to be "OK" is if he knows Salem/Oz's story exactly as we do... that it will end in both the death of Salem/Oz/everything if he brings the relics together... that's not particularly great or makes him likable, just "OK", the real problem is just how intelligent his initial showing led us to believe he was and how unbelievably stupid his current path is...

Even assuming he's so consumed by revenge as to not care about casualties, and presuming he cares so much about full disclosure, his best "revenge" would be better served by disclosing Salem's location to Oz's closest allies, then broadcasting both their fight and Oz's secrets to the world, and then killing Oz, would make both Salem & Oz suffer far more while avoiding more uninformed casualties.

  • This is one of the few times I'll still be logging back onto this wiki, and its to ask this.

Okay, seriously, what is your beef with Hazel?

I mean, really, you act like he's a lost cause and his writing is goddawful, yet as I pointed out, his reasoning not only makes sense but also is a parallel to numerous other characters, namely Yang, Jaune, and Neo. He is pretty much a villainous Jaune. So why exactly do you consider him such a disappointing character for having such a motivation?

Then let me ask you this. If you had nothing left to live for and were looking for catharsis, who would you kill, and who would you side with so you could be guarenteed to get that catharsis?

Right here. Catharsis. Which was in response to Phantomlink. Most of the Catharsis stuff was responses to Phantomlink. My apologies on the false goodbye. The goodbye will likely stick should I either have nothing else to respond to or no one responds to me.

  • I suspected Chishoo or another moderator would express the same idea you did, that by pointing out his activities, I am in a sense harassing him Obviously that would never be my intent, but intent matters little in that regard, so my apologies

    • Sigh, I apologize for making this thread active with my long comment. I admit that SDC gets under my skin but it would be nicer to not talk about people like them when they're not here and we don't have to.

  • Hi, so the thread “Opinions on RWBY villains?” on the Off-Topic Board has some users engaging in uncivil behavior, three in particular, and as a result, that thread should be taken down and the offending users been dealt with to prevent a flame war from starting again. The third one just replied to another user with “you didn’t need to point to anyone specific, but you did so fuck you” when they tried to handle the situation.

They just won’t be civil, man. Could you at least keep an eye out in case it gets too heated again if you aren’t going to do anything?

    • Hi.

So I've been at work all weekend, and most especially while this was going down, which is why I was unaware of any problems. I have dropped a link in the staff discord to ask someone who is available to do something about the situation.

    • Right, thanks.

Edit: Ah, I see Chish has already banned the offenders.

  • Hi, just thought I should point out this thread is a clear attempt at flamebait based on the comments and the edit to the original post, and as a result, should be taken down.

  • hey there, I see you’ve undo my edit about Ozma.

The trivia bit also relates to Ozma itself of Oz, as she was a mighty queen, therefore the name befitted her.

even Salem’s name origin is Hebrew, therefor it even more make sense and worth mentioning in my opinion.

      Loading editor
    • The difference between the Ozma trivia and the Salem trivia is the Otsma thing is speculative; it may have something to do with the word according to your trivia. Whereas the Salem trivia is definitive - Salem is derived from Shalem, meaning peace. It sounds speculative and we prefer not to put speculation on the pages.

        Loading editor
    • Shalem means whole, you are confusing with shalom which means peace.

well, I’d rather hear more people opinions about that issue that one person who decide if it worth being noted or not, as of Nadir which means rare in Hebrew.

english native speakers have hard time pronounce “ts” and often replace it with z.

same as Oz is drived from the word Uts, which is a land that was noted in the Bible.

        Loading editor
    • Feel free to bring it up on the Administrative Requests board, or find a way to word the trivia to be less speculative and more assertive. As it stands, it reads as a 'we don't know, but it might be this', which again is speculative and we don't do that sort of trivia on this wiki.
