Trivia[]

General[]

  • This movie was physically released on October 31st, the same day as Ruby's birthday.
  • Team RWBY's DC outfits are similar to the ones from DC/RWBY comics.
  • The weapons which Team RWBY uses seem to be equipment of various DC villains:
    • Ruby's scythe and Weiss's gun are weapons of Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze, Batman villains.
    • Blake appears to use the staff and sword used by Deathstroke, an enemy of the Teen Titans.
    • Yang used Flash Rogue Heat Wave's Heat Gun before awakening her superpower.
  • While team RWBY has no access to aura for whatever reason, the majority prove to be metahumans (or the rough equivalent thereof). However, the activation of their powers is said by Ruby to be similar to activating a Semblance.
    • Much like the girls new costumes & Blake's lack of ears, and them appearing to be taller appears to be another unexplained result of going through the portal that got them there.
    • The powers are as follows:
      • Ruby, Teleportation complete with rose petal aesthetic.
      • Yang, Fire Fists which imitates her mechshift weapons as much if not more than her semblance.
      • Blake, 'Shadow Bending' effectively having 'green lantern powers' but with shadows.
      • Weiss, after a brief pause, concludes she has none. Still retains her amazing physical abilities.
  • This is the only piece of RWBY media where Blake becomes Human.
  • Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, and Troy Baker reprise their role as Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman respectively from previous DC Media.
    • This is the 3rd DC Crossover where Troy Baker voices Batman. The first two being "LEGO Dimensions", which also has Travis Willingham and Laura Bailey voicing their respective characters, and "Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
  • This is the voice-acting debut of AEW Wrestler Maxwell Friedman who voices Killer Croc.
  • According to Kerry Shawcross, this movie and its prequel are considered canon-adjacent, similarly to RWBY: Ice Queendom. This means that while it fits into the canon story of RWBY, it is unlikely to affect or be referenced by the main series.[8]
  • This film confirms that Remnant and Earth’s time are different from one another due to being different worlds. To Team RWBY, they haven’t seen the Justice League for weeks and the Justice League hasn’t seen them for three days.
  • Before his physical death in the fall of Atlas, Arthur Watts stored his consciousness with Kilg%re when he returned to earth, and rebuilt his body with cybernetics at Star Labs while allowing them both to evolve the Grimm.
  • The eight banners seen at the Hall of Justice are logos of Green Lantern, Batman, the Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg while the fifth flag is "JL" stands for Justice League and the seventh flag is Aquaman's logo.
  • One of the street signs in Central City name Carmine Infantino St. named after the co-creator of The Flash.
  • Vixen reports the Grimm attacks and mentions the other heroes: Green Arrow in Star City, Fire in Brazil and the Titans in San Francisco.
  • When Yang fights a possessed Wonder Woman, their fight could possibly be a reference to their encounter on a promo Thumbnail of Rooster Teeth's other show Death Battle.
  • This is the second time Yang and Blake kiss after “Confessions Within Cumulonimbus Clouds”.

RWBY Connections[]

  • This film takes place after Volume 9 when Team RWBY is living in Vacuo.
  • When Team RWBY realizes their world time runs differently than Justice League’s Earth world, Weiss mentions how they felt it similar before which is a reference to when Team RWBY and Jaune were trapped in the Ever After in Volume 9.
