Hanlon Fifestone is an antagonist and the third boss of RWBY: Arrowfell. Prior to the events of the game, he was the most well-respected leader of the Mantle Union.
With the destruction of Atlas in “The Final Word”, his current status is unknown.
Appearance[]
Halon is a tall man with short messy black hair, short beard, sky gray eyes and has a vertical scar on his left eye. He wears a torn white plain button shirt with a dark gray coat, bright red gloves, light brown belt, and black pants. In additional, he wears a red banana covering his forehead.
Personality[]
Prior to the game’s beginning, Hanlon Fifestone was the most well-respected leader of the Mantle Union, fighting for better conditions for the City of Mantle and the Faunus workers as well.
However, by the time the events of the game occur, Fifestone has become a pawn in Bram Thornmane's conspiracy against General James Ironwood. Because of this, he started to use his Semblance on the other workers in Mantle including the very Faunus he used to fight for to extract their emotions like fear and turn them into orb weapons that have the ability to attract the Grimm. Once the plan was finished, he planned on killing the workers who he stole the emotions from, showing he has thrown away his original ideals in the process.
History[]
Prior to the events of "RWBY: Arrowfell", Fifestone was born in Mantle and made his way through the ranks of Atlas after he enlisted as a soldier in the Atlas Military. His goal was to fight for better rights for the people of Mantle. It was during this time that he saw the corruption, wealth and greed of the people of Atlas. After this, he deserted military duty to become a union leader in Mantle which caused him to get a bad reputation with the people of Atlas as a result. Eventually, he became the most well-respected union leader in Mantle due to fighting for better rights for the citizens including the Faunus.
At some point however, Fifestone started losing his ideals and was convinced by Thornmane to help him in his conspiracy against Ironwood by using his Semblance to steal the emotions of other people to power the orbs that could attract the Grimm, being forced to do so under threat. Because of this, he used his Semblance on his fellow union workers, including the Faunus, to achieve this.
RWBY: Arrowfell[]
After Team RWBY defeat Amoncio Glass and learn about how the orbs work, Bram Thornmane, Lieutenant Colonel Olive Harper and General James Ironwood come to the conclusion that Fifestone had a role with getting the orbs to work due to his Semblance and task Team RWBY with dealing with him in Mantle as they leave.
Due to having trouble locating his exact position, Qrow Branwen reveals that he set up five security drones around Mantle to try and locate Fifestone's position. While searching for all five drones, it's revealed that Fifestone was in Mosset Grotto the day before their investigation into him and that Faunus workers around Mantle had begun disappearing. After collecting all five security drones, Qrow reveals that he managed to pinpoint that Firestone was working in the Mantle industrial center as Team RWBY head there to confront him.
When Team RWBY reach him, they see him drain the fear out of a Faunus worker and place it in one of the orbs on him. Just as he is preparing to kill the worker, Blake Belladonna attacks him and saves the worker in the process while Yang Xiao Long punches Fifestone through the wall. After they confront him, they begin to battle him in order to stop the orbs from being created.
After being defeated, Blake calls out Fifestone for harming the very workers he was supposed to be protecting in order to make the orbs work. As Fifestone is arrested and taken away by the Atlas Military, he uses a remote on him in order to activate four hidden orbs across all of Solitas to incite Grimm attacks across the Kingdom while blaming Team RWBY for what happens next.
Powers and Abilities[]
Weapon[]
Fifestone uses a two-pronged weapon attached to his arm. One of the prongs is a piercing spear while the other one is a drill. He also used wind and earth Dust in his attacks such as using a huge blast of wind to attack Team RWBY, making a miniature whirlwind around his body which makes him dizzy after using it, and launching a large amount of rocks at the directions of his enemies.
After being defeated by Team RWBY, the weapon he used was destroyed.
Semblance[]
- Main article: Raw Emotion
Fifestone's Semblance allows him to take the emotions of the victims and use it to make emotional weapons such as the orbs that attract the Grimm.
