Gavin David Free is the voice actor for Scarlet David in RWBY. Outside of RWBY, he is known for serving as a member of Achievement Hunter, as a regular on the Rooster Teeth podcast, and for his internet show The Slow Mo Guys.

- Junior Xiong was originally supposed to be voiced by Gavin.[1]
- Even though the role eventually went to Jack Pattillo, Gavin's recording of Junior's squeal in the "Yellow" Trailer made it into the final version.
- Gavin also auditioned to voice Bartholomew Oobleck.
- A likeness of Gavin appears in RWBY as part of the fictional group The Achieve Men, a poster for which hangs in Team RWBY's dorm room.
- Even though Gavin only speaks for the first time in Volume 3, Monty Oum confirmed straight after Volume 1 that Gavin was confirmed to voice a character.[2]
- He shares the name "David" with Scarlet. Gavin's middle name is David, and it is Scarlet's surname.
- He is currently in a relationship with Meg Turney, the voice actress for Neon Katt.[3] Gavin is not the only voice actor of a member of Team SSSN to be in a relationship with the voice actress of someone from another team, as SSSN's namesake leader's voice actor as well as Gavin's primary partner in Rooster Teeth's Achievement Hunter, Michael Jones, the voice of Sun Wukong, is married to Ruby Rose's voice actor, Lindsay Jones.
