The Garden is a waterfront market located in the Garden's Acre of the Ever After. It was attacked by Jabberwalker Clones in "The Parfait Predicament", destroying the marketplace.

The Garden was later rebuilt in "The Adventures of Somewhat" by the local Afterans.

History[]

Team RWBY and Little following the Curious Cat through the Garden's Acre takes them to the Garden where they can hopefully acquire ingredients for a Growgurt Parfait. Due to the complex list of ingredients the Cat offers to go find them for the group. But knowing the Cat's distracted personality, Yang, Blake, and Weiss go with them to make sure they stay focused. Ruby is left with Little to locate the last ingredient from the Teapot Lady.

On the way searching for the Afteran, Ruby surroundings change, the bustle of the market being replaced by silence and the light dimming until only a tent containing a forge remains for her to see. There she finds the discarded sword of Penny. She also meets the vendor of the forge, the Blacksmith who converses with Ruby, noticing her emotional burden and offers to exchange her burden for a new weapon. Ruby declines as she already as a weapon, which is missing, though the Blacksmith leaves the offer open should the human needs it and vanishes.

Ruby and Little are reunited with the rest of their companions who have acquired all of the ingredients save for one from the Teapot Lady. Just as they were about to negotiate, the Garden is invaded by the Jabberwalker. The Cat seeing the severity of the situation hastily makes a Growgurt Parfait and has the shrunken members of Team RWBY eat it in order to regain their sizes. However the huntresses do not eat enough of the parfait before they are attacked by the Jabberwalker. The Jabberwalker accidentally eats some of the desert causing it to grow and become more dangerous and nearly kills the huntress if it were not for the intervention of the Hawker who was recruited by the Cat to hold the Jabberwalker off.

The Hawker proves no match for the Jabberwalker and is easily knocked away. The Rusted Knight soon arrives atop a giant jackalope holding the Jabberwalker off, long enough for WBY to regain their sizes and join the fray and kill it. However they are shocked to find that the Jabberwalker was a clone of Neopolitan. More clones of the Jabberwalker arrive, causing The Rusted Knight to lead RWBY to safety whilst the Curious Cat and the Hawker buy them time to escape. In the confrontation, the Hawker is torn to shreds by the clones, though they allow the group to escape to the top of the Garden.

In the aftermath the Garden is in flames and ruin, with several Afterans escaping on lily pads, fleeing from the Jabberwalkers.

In "The Adventures of Somewhat", Afterans can be seen rebuilding the Garden, setting up a new stand for "Hawker's".

Description[]

The Garden is split up into five different levels. The lower four were filled with stands where Afterans sell varying wares. One such vendor is the Teapot Lady, who resides on the third level. The Garden has baskets available for customers for ease of transport of bought items.

The Garden is surrounded by a large circular lake in the Garden's Acre. Large lilypads are located at the edges of the lake to bring people from the forest into the Garden itself.

At the top of the Garden is a giant hollow purple lotus flower, which casts a purple light across the lake surrounding the Garden. Inside the flower is a small luminescent field, with golden blades of grass with lights on the tips. Further through the path inside the flower is an exit to the Garden that leads directly into the Field Acre, in the form of a cave exit.

Trivia[]

  • Colorful fireworks are used to alert the vendors and visitors of the Garden to danger.
