The Field Acre (unofficial), referred to as the Flower Field in concept art,[1] is a location in the Ever After. It serves as a path between the Garden's Acre and the Origami Acre.
Before their departure from the Ever After, the Field Acre was created by The Gods for the Afterans to inhabit based on their purpose.
During the events of "Confessions Within Cumulonimbus Clouds", Jaune Arc leads Team RWBY into the acre, through an exit at the top of the Garden. He intends to use the acre as a passageway back to the Origami Acre and the village he lives in, in order to come up with a plan to escape the Ever After. Jaune's familiarity with the Field Acre implies that he commonly travels through this acre during his travels in the realm.
Once arrived in the acre, Jaune spots a Punderstorm at the edge of the acre, and urges the team to hurry through the acre before it hits them. Before they can however, the team begins to worry about what happened to the Curious Cat which angers Jaune due to his past history with the cat. The Curious Cat then catches back up with the group, unaware of the current tension. Jaune, upset with the Cat's presence, explains that the Cat had been hiding information from the rest of them, most notably the absence of mention of Lewis, Alyx's brother.
This argument gives time for the Punderstorm to envelop the acre, while the tension between the two sides causes it to strike and absorb them. While in the Punderstorm, they resolve the tension and decide to follow Jaune's lead rather than the Cat's. After breaking out of the storm, they are placed back into the field, now with a fully clear sky. With their obstacles out of the way, the group continues through the Field Acre and soon reach the Origami Acre.
Description[]
The Field Acre is comprised of a large, flowery field surrounded by a forest. It is filled with tall grass mixed with wood lilies. Surrounding this giant field is a dense forest filled with green trees not dissimilar to those in Sanus or Anima in Remnant, here also covered in blooming wood lilies. This acre seems to have more natural weather than other acres, which have human-triggered weather, as seen by the Punderstorm passing through the acre in "Confessions Within Cumulonimbus Clouds".
Like most other acres, the Field Acre has its own uniquely colored sky. It has a light blue sky, very close to the sky of Remnant, furthering the visual connection between the two. The Great Tree is very visible in the sky at all points in the acre due to its flat terrain.
The Field Acre is connected to the cave at the top of the Garden and leads to the Origami Acre.
The Field Acre is briefly seen in the Volume 9 Opening in the mural section as the backdrop for the painting of Jaune and Juniper, as evidenced by the red flowers on the trees and the clear blue sky.
Interestingly, the smaller trees at the top of the Great Tree match those in the Field Acre, with the same blooming red flowers growing from the leaves.
