Ruby’s party reaches the inner depths of the dream, but Nega-Weiss attacks trying to eliminate Blake. Blake has a difficult timing fighting Weiss’ relentless attacks and is also hurt from hearing harsh words that she and the Faunus were enemies to her. Although they were able to find the “Nightmare”, they could not defeat Weiss, who had exploded in anger by Ruby and Yang’s betrayal and hatred toward Blake. The three had no choice but to retreat to the real world. Ruby’s party had become depress, hearing that sneaking into the dream which meant defeating the “Nightmare”, had become more difficult because of this failure. Dark clouds had gathered concerning this mission of exploring Weiss’ mind and heart…

Changes from the Show[]

Difference between the show and anime[]

In the show, Yang rarely interacts with Penny until after Penny’s presumed death at the end of Volume 3 and her relationship with Penny improved in Volume 7. In the anime, Yang seems okay with having a conversation with Penny.
The Beacon Academy statue appears to be very different than the show. In the show, the statues consists of two male warriors instead of one man and one woman.

Original Scenes[]

Negative Weiss is capable of summons Grimms instead of the Grimms she defeated like Arma Gigas and Boarbatusk.
Negative Weiss is also capable refilling her Dust ammunition out of thin air in Weiss’ dreamscape.
The scene where Nightmare guards a dress on stage implies the real Weiss is regressed to her Songbird dress.
The door markers that Ruby and Blake created were all destroyed by Negative Weiss offscreen. It is unknown how Negative Weiss managed to find them all.
The scene where Blake and Sun talks about Weiss reveals the reason why no humans are hanging out with Faunus is because they are kept separate in Vale. Where the humans would hang out at the bottom level, the Faunus would hang out at the top level of the restaurant.

Continuity errors[]

In the initial release of the episode, Dopey Klein appears as a door to lock up Ruby and Yang instead of Sleepy Klein. This has since been fixed in the rebroadcasted/Blu-Ray version of the episode.

Trivia[]

Negative Weiss stating that Blake has always run away is a reference or foreshadowing to “End of the Beginning”, where Blake does ran off out of guilt for putting her friends in danger, as well as "Mountain Glenn", where she laments this trait of hers.
Sun's encouragement to Blake is a reference to "Taking Control" and his overall arc in Volume 4, where he shares and expresses that same rationale of coming back to help someone even if they push you away.
Jaune's determination to save Weiss by finding the Nightmare’s location even it may cost his life is a reference to “The More the Merrier” where Jaune is willing to protect his friends with his own life exchange against Cinder.
Most of the scenes during the fight between Negative Weiss, Ruby, Blake, and Yang were rendered in either 3D or CGI in this episode.
