Affiliation[]
Beacon Academy[]
Coco is a former second-year student at Beacon Academy. She joined Beacon because she believed that it would allow her to combine her three favorite things: Fashion, Killing Grimm and Explosions.
Shade Academy[]
Coco is currently a student at Shade Academy.
Team CFVY[]
Coco is the leader of Team CFVY. She learned to trust them completely in Beacon.
Team ROSC[]
Coco is a member of the temporary Team ROSC, in which she became the group's ringleader.
Beacon Brigade[]
Coco is a member and founder of the Beacon Brigade.
Team CFVY[]
Fox Alistair[]
Coco and Fox instantly developed a friendship during their initiation. The two share "nice hustle" as an inside joke. Coco completely trusts Fox in going on a mission alone.
Typical of her generally lighthearted attitude, Coco has a joking relationship with her teammate Fox, giving him a playful slap on the rear after the fight in "Breach". Fox appears to not mind, and this is not written in any sort of romantic context.
The two are seemingly best friends, and as such share a strong bond. Coco and Fox are very comfortable around one another, making jokes at each other's expense frequently.
Velvet Scarlatina[]
Velvet is Coco's teammate. When Velvet moves to use her weapon against the invading Grimm in "Breach", Coco advises her to save it for another time. Velvet appears disappointed, but she obeys her leader regardless. After Coco and Yatsuhashi lose their match in "Lessons Learned", Velvet expresses concern for Coco. Velvet expresses admiration for Coco and has known of her since her days at Pharos Academy.[1]
Coco is also trusting enough of Velvet's abilities to send her out with minimal help to find and defeat both Gillian Asturias and Carmine Esclados, the latter of which being Coco's own personal nemesis.[2]
Yatsuhashi Daichi[]
Yatsuhashi is Coco's teammate. They are chosen to move forward into the doubles round of the Vytal Festival tournament, where they are set to battle against Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black. During the fight, they display admirable teamwork, with Yatsuhashi defending Coco as she uses her minigun to strike.
Yatsuhashi shoves Coco out of the way of Mercury's first attack, but he is unable to protect his teammate from Emerald when she drags Coco away with Thief's Respite. After they are separated, the two are defeated individually with relative ease. When Coco realizes that Yatsuhashi was defeated, she appears visibly shaken at seeing him in two places at once and loses her characteristic confidence.
Coco looks to Yatsuhashi for advice when she tries to find the right decision when making leadership calls.[3]
She and Yatsuhashi share a weakness in hand to hand combat, which they would work together on in their sparring matches. As a result, they'd spar frequently and know their combat styles very well.[4]
Team RWBY[]
Coco highly respects Team RWBY and sees them as equals due to the younger team's hotshot reputation stemming from their initiation. The two teams lost touch after the Battle of Beacon.
Ruby Rose[]
Ruby and Coco met on the first semester of class, where Coco encouraged Ruby to improve. Ruby asked the more experienced Huntress for leadership advice, to which Coco recalled words Ozpin told her during her first year at Beacon. The last time Coco saw Ruby, the latter told the Huntress-in-training to not separate her team.
Team SSSN[]
Coco and Team SSSN shared a friendship. After the Battle of Beacon, the two teams reconnected in Coquina, where Sun Wukong shared information about the Battle of Haven.
Coco sees team SSSN as a mediocre team at best, in part due to weak leadership.
Sun Wukong[]
Coco is shown to find Sun to be a poor leader, his chaotic nature leading to Team SSSN being a mediocre team at best. Still, she accepts his offer to help hunt the Crown.
Scarlet David[]
While meeting with Team SSSN, Scarlet is able to see through Coco's pleasantries and is able to tell she doesn't think much of them as Huntsmen. However, after his time in Team ROSC, he begins to see why Coco is so valued as a leader, earning his respect.
Team ABRN[]
Arslan Altan[]
Coco and Arslan both come to Velvet's aid after she is defeated by Nebula Violette in a sparring match. They are said to share the traits of being good leaders by Scarlet, and Coco respects Arslan.[5]
Reese Chloris[]
Coco finds herself miserable under Reese's leadership in Team ROSC, due to her lack thereof the proper skills for the role, being judgmental of Reese's indecisiveness when making decision. Coco described Reese as a if she was a "twelve-year-old hanging out at the mall, and acting like one too".[6]
After being pinned down by the Grimm, Coco takes the leadership role from Reese after the Haven student's Aura is knocked out.[7]
Beacon Academy[]
Ozpin[]
Coco frequently looked to Ozpin as a mentor to help her become a better leader, the two shared a conversation about it early into her career as a Huntress. Ozpin's mischievousness and boyish charm remind Coco of her younger brother.[8]
Glynda Goodwitch[]
Coco admired Glynda both for her leadership skills and impeccable fashion sense. While she never acted on it, Coco was attracted to the Professor, describing her as "hot". Glynda showed full support towards Coco's team, going as far as writing a personal letter of recommendation to Headmaster Theodore in regards of getting them transferred to Shade Academy.
Shade Academy[]
Theodore[]
When Coco first met Theodore with her team, he eagerly accepted her team after reading Glynda Goodwitch's letter of recommendation. He later trusts her leadership and plans at the Battle of Shade, following through with them.
Xanthe Rumpole[]
Rumpole is said to remind Coco of herself. She's described as often being harsh, though not overtly cruel, and being extremely stylish. Other than Glynda, Rumpole is the only Huntress Coco seeks the approval of as a student. Coco suspects that Rumpole believes a second global war is coming, seeing as how the professor abruptly changed her lessons from Shade Academy's foundations to the Great War.
Others[]
Emerald Sustrai[]
Coco fights Emerald in the Vytal Festival tournament doubles round. Initially, she compliments Emerald's outfit and seems to take a liking to her spunky attitude and confidence. However, once Emerald gains the upper hand in the fight and destroys her sunglasses, Coco revises her initial assessment, remarking, "I take it back. I don't like her."
Carmine Esclados[]
At first, Coco expressed romantic interest in Carmine (or at least a strong physical attraction), and the two got along well. However, once Carmine's true goal of human trafficking was revealed, Coco had nothing but disgust towards her, muttering to herself that she couldn't believe she'd ever found the other woman attractive. Coco and her team arrest Carmine and her partner, Bertilak.
Following Carmine's escape from imprisonment, Coco and her team began to look for the two criminals and the Crown.
The two reunite when Team ROSC goes on a mission to the Wastelands, where Coco finds Carmine battling the Grimm. The two defeat the Grimm together, and when the battle is over, they enter a standoffish conversation about the Crown. Once Carmine confirms her affiliation to the organization, Coco attacks her without any hesitation. Carmine uses Coco's claustrophobia against her by burying her alive in the sand, and leaves when more Grimm and the rest of Team ROSC appear.
Carmine became somewhat of a personal nemesis to Team CFVY, and especially to Coco, who'd often dream about a rematch with Carmine, who taunts and teases her about that fact.
