BackgroundEdit

Coco was born in Vale, to a family of a father, a mother, and three brothers, Toma, Mate and Van. She studied combat in Pharos Academy along with Velvet Scarlatina, where she developed a reputation breaking hearts and school records. Like Ruby, her weapon, Gianduja, is her own creation. Coco eventually enrolled in Beacon Academy.

RWBYEdit

First YearEdit

At the start of her first year at Beacon, Coco went through the Beacon Academy Initiation with the task of finding a relic in the Emerald Forest on the second day at Beacon. To land on the ground safely, Coco uses Gianduja's recoil and Semblance-enhanced Gravity Dust bullets to slow her fall before latching onto branches with her purse and making her way down, closed out with another volley and landing in her own crater.

In the forests, Coco finds a partner in Fox Alistair, whom she gets along with well, the two making it to the ruins with relatively no issue. On the way, they come across a Death Stalker's den, which Fox identifies and claims that only an idiot would go inside.

In the temple, they discover the relics; tablets fashioned after a deck of cards, in which Fox picks out the King of Hearts. As they prepare to leave, the two notice Velvet and Yatsuhashi Daichi arriving, chased by a pack of Boarbatusks. As they get close to the temple, Coco kills the final Grimm with her weapon. The group prepares to leave when eight Ursai surround the group, where Coco makes a plan for escape. She kills one Ursa to break the ring whilst Yatsuhashi knocks another aside for Fox to kill with Sharp Retribution. Meanwhile, Velvet stays in the middle and shouts directions & warnings to the teammates while Coco brought up the rear to cover their backs.

Following this, she is made the leader of the newly christened Team CFVY by Professor Ozpin.

At one point, she shared a conversation with Ozpin about what leadership means and how to improve for her team.

Second Year, First SemesterEdit

Coco, like most Beacon students, watched the Beacon Academy Initiation take place. She grew a liking for Team RWBY, as they had quickly earned a hotshot reputation at Beacon just like her own team. Shortly after this, Coco met Ruby Rose and counseled her on how to improve her leadership skills, pulling from what Ozpin told her the previous year. The two and their teams became close friends after that.

Second Year, Second SemesterEdit

During their second semester, Team CFVY was sent on a mission to the settlement of Lower Cairn near Mountain Glenn, supervised by Professor Peter Port. There, they found the settlement not only wiped out, but completely flattened by the Grimm. After ten grueling days, Coco and her team found six survivors from the attack, a family of a father, a mother, and four children hiding in a nearby cave. While attempting to rescue the family, the father was killed by an Ursa that attacked the Huntsmen, causing the mother and children to run back to their cave. To the horror of the Huntsmen-in-training, the cave was then crushed by a Goliath that was rampaging nearby. Despite Coco attempting to stay and fight, Team CFVY evacuated from the lost settlement, and their mission was considered an outright failure.

Team CFVY was initially supposed to handle the arrangements for the Beacon Dance, but due to unforeseen circumstances in their mission, that duty is passed to Team RWBY. Coco returns with her team from their mission just as Team RWBY is heading out on their first assignment.

V2 12 00064

Firing at Grimm

After a group of Grimm attack Vale using a breach created by Roman Torchwick and the White Fang, Coco and the rest of her team, alongside Professor Peter Port, arrive in a Bullhead to provide reinforcements for Team RWBY in confronting the threat. After Fox Alistair destroys a horde of Grimm, Coco compliments him and takes over in the fight. Coco takes down several of the creatures with Gianduja, still in its handbag form.

She stops Velvet Scarlatina from using her weapon, Anesidora, that she was about to use and then switches the handbag to a large minigun form. With it, she easily takes down several Beowolves, Ursai, a Death Stalker, and an entire flock of Nevermore.

Vytal Festival TournamentEdit

V3 0400018

Coco and Yatsu vs Mercury and Emerald

Coco and her team are competing in the Vytal Festival tournament, representing Beacon and the kingdom of Vale. After Team CFVY wins their (off-screen) match in the team round of the tournament, Coco and Yatsuhashi Daichi are selected to represent them in the doubles round. They are "randomly" matched with Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black, but unknown to them, this match was actually rigged by Cinder Fall.

During the match, Coco and Yatsuhashi are thoroughly outclassed by Emerald and Mercury. After being separated from her teammate, Coco apparently hallucinates Yatsuhashi being with her, but in actuality, he was already eliminated. It is later revealed that this was actually an illusion cast by Emerald to confuse her. Both Coco and Yatsuhashi are eliminated without managing to defeat either of their opponents, in what is described as a major upset.

She makes a small cameo in "Fall", watching Yang's fight with Mercury.

After Yang Xiao Long breaks Mercury's leg after her fight against him, Velvet tells Ruby about Coco's fight against Emerald and Mercury as an instance of stress-induced hallucination. The two of them believe Yang and Coco experience the same thing.

Coco is present at Amity Colosseum for Pyrrha Nikos' ill-fated match against Penny Polendina. She is also present when a Giant Nevermore breaches the defenses of the city and begins attacking the stadium.

The Battle of BeaconEdit

V3 11 00040

Coco faces off the Paladins at Beacon

Coco is among the group of students present at Amity Colosseum at the beginning of this Grimm attack on Vale. After the Giant Nevermore breaks into the stadium and is defeated, she is among the students that choose to fight this battle rather than flee. The group takes an Air Bus to Beacon where they begin to fight the Grimm.

When the students have trouble defeating an Atlesian Paladin-290, she tells Velvet to use her weapon. The rabbit Faunus defeats two Paladins before being knocked out by one. Coco and others fight the mech that incapacitates Velvet until Weiss Schnee defeats it by summoning the right arm of an Arma Gigas. Soon after, a more advanced Paladin charges them, but it powers down before it can reach them due to the destruction of the Atlesian Airship transmitting the virus controlling it.

During the Battle of Beacon, Coco encountered Ruby and Weiss as they looked for Jaune Arc and Pyrrha, who had gone missing. Coco and her team offer to help find the two, but Ruby insists that Coco should keep her team together, and secure Vale. Coco begrudgingly agrees.

RWBY: After the FallEdit

Following the Battle of Beacon, Coco, along with her team, stayed in Vale for a short while to help Glynda Goodwitch secure the city. Eventually, Team CFVY decides to move on to new things, and with Glynda's support, transfers to Shade Academy.

At Shade, Team CFVY receives a distress call from the settlement of Gossan due to a Grimm invasion. They find the settlement had been destroyed and aid the survivors in reaching the settlement of Feldspar. After Grimm invade Feldspar, the team successfully lead the nomads to Coquina without any casualties.

Additionally, with the aid of her team, Coco uncovers a plot set by Carmine Esclados and Bertilak Celadon to traffic humans for an unknown employer and subsequently arrests the two.

When they arrive at the settlement of Coquina, Team CFVY encounters Team SSSN, who informs them about the events that had transpired in the Battle of Haven.

Between NovelsEdit

Sometime between RWBY: After the Fall and RWBY: Before the Dawn, Fox and his team note that transfers from Beacon and Haven Academy are being harassed by Vacuan students. Fox comes up with the idea of the Beacon Brigade, something of a safe space for survivors of the fallen Academies which he likens to a Vacuan nomadic clan. CFVY invite Iris Marilla, Team ABRN, and Nolan Porfirio to the group.

RWBY: Before the DawnEdit

Preparations to Hunt the CrownEdit

Coco, along with her team, takes to illegally hunting for the Crown at night, having heard the news of Carmine and Bertilak's escape.

One week after the start of Team SSSN's first week at Shade Academy, Fox, and his team meet with SSSN, where Sun Wukong offers to aid them in stopping the Crown. Team CFVY is initially opposed to this but later decides to consider it. Coco and her team go to an 8 am class with Xanthe Rumpole, where the professor discusses the Great War with her students. The team is denied permission to continue hunting the Crown, and Rumpole decides to investigate the organization herself.

After classes, Teams SSSN and CFVY walk around the city, visiting the Weeping Wall at Vacuo, which has a list of missing people, including Rosa Schwein, who Sun recognizes as Pink, a thug who he had fought the previous night who had attempted to kidnap a woman. At the Weeping Wall, the group notices a young Faunus girl around their age breaks down when she realizes her older sister is now missing as well. With this information, the group returns to Shade Academy.

At Shade, Team CFVY introduces Team SSSN to the Beacon Brigade, who are survivors of the falls of Beacon and Haven. Sun finds himself to dislike the idea of the group and tells them it's a bad idea. He storms off, leaving Coco and the rest of the Beacon Brigade to continue without him.

At night, Team SSSN joins CFVY on one of their nightly patrols. During it, Coco and Fox watch the Pits, a local nightclub, in search of Huntsmen who had abandoned their duties. Coco explains that she had snuck into Rumpole's office, and the professor hadn't found anything on the Crown and instead was looking at nearby Huntsman activity. During their patrol, they spot Green and Brown attempting to kidnap a merchant. Teams CFVY and SSSN chase them, eventually coming into an abandoned Dust refinery. The teams lose track of the thugs, and Fox senses nearly 50 Auras within the building, including Rumpole's. Coco decides she'll confront the professor the next day.

Shade Academy Re-InitiationEdit

The following morning, Coco, along with other Shade Academy students, is called onto the campus Meeting Grounds for an assembly, where Theodore tells them of a group of students patrolling with the business of local authorities at night. Because of this, he declares a school-wide curfew at Rumpole's suggestion, as well as a temporary reshuffling of teams due to a large wave of Beacon and Haven students.

Coco is present for the Shade Academy Initiation, where she is placed as a member of Team ROSC, along with Reese Chloris, Scarlet David, and Olive Gashley. She later attends another Beacon Brigade meeting the day after the initiation. After this, Coco and her team, along with Team NOVA, attend a weapons training class with Professor Sunnybrook, only to instead be taught by Rumpole. Rumpole has Velvet fight Nebula Violette without their weapons of choice, and once Velvet is defeated, orders Nebula to continue to beat her until her Aura is down. Arslan Altan and Coco protest, and Rumpole explains that she needs her students to be ruthless in order to be prepared for a looming threat.

Sometime after this, Team ROSC is sent on a mission to the Wastelands, where the team is told to act as perimeter watch for the desert. Coco detects a breach and decides to investigate, finding Carmine surrounded by the Grimm. Once Coco and Carmine defeat the Grimm, the former asks Carmine if she's with the Crown. Once Carmine confirms this, Coco attacks the older Huntress and is instantly defeated due to Carmine due to the Huntress' supernatural amounts of Aura. Team ROSC comes to Coco's aid, and Death Stalkers appear, giving Carmine a chance to escape as the Grimm attack them.

While pinned by the Grimm, the team is saved by a group consisting of Fox, Nolan, Sage Ayana, and Octavia Ember, who explain that the Crown is active and that Sun Wukong and Velvet were in trouble. The group discovers a secret underground Crown Bunker that served as a hidden base for the criminal group. They venture inside, discovering Rosa talking to a woman named Gillian Asturias, who is readying for a war and building an army. Due to being vastly outnumbered, they sneak back to Shade Academy, discovering that Neptune and Yatsuhashi had saved Sun and Velvet, but Yatsuhashi has been captured by the Crown.

There, Rumpole tells about the Gillian Asturias’ past in the Academy, and of her brother, Jax Asturias', expulsion from school. Rumpole takes a painting from her wall, showing the group an artist's rendition of the very first king of Vacuo; Malik the Sunderer, who was alive 1,000 years ago. The group puts together they want things to go back to how Vacuo used to be, building an army to restore the old kingdom; as king and queen. Teams CFV_ and SSSN go to Finn Asturias' home to learn more about them, where he tells the students of his children's past, and their motivations. He tells that Pink and Brown – Rosa Schwein and Argento Pocoron – had come by earlier, telling him to flee to the kingdom of Vale, which leads the group to believe the attack on Vacuo is imminent.

In Shade, Theodore rants about the Asturias' corruption and decides that the authorities can handle the twins due to bigger threats. He believes chasing the two is a trap, and will only distract them from “the big one”. Rumpole objects, saying the twins may be in line with the big one, and this Huntsmen Army is an advanced force just like the White Fang had been in Haven. Theodore roars that Shade isn’t Beacon, punching a wall with his gloves, leaving a crater in the room, and cracking Ozpin’s portrait. CFVY and SSSN convince him to let Shade deal with Jax and Gillian, and he restores the original teams effective immediately. They hear gunfire and shouting outside.

The Battle of ShadeEdit

Coco and the group then discover the Crown had been attacking Shade, and he along with the rest of the Beacon Brigade, lead the charge on the defense. During the battle, Coco fights Yatsuhashi who had been placed under mind control, eventually helping him escape it, as well as waves of invading Grimm. Coco and the Beacon Brigade cover Velvet, Sun, and Octavia's plan to sneak away and find Carmine and Gillian in the Crown Bunker.

As the sides begin to have to balance battling each other and the Grimm, the monsters begin to turn on the Crownsmen and only attack them, which both sides realize is due to the high amounts of Aura that the Crown has, making them a magnet to the Grimm. Fox uses his Semblance to tell this to everyone in the battle, including the Crown, exhausting him. Soon after, a message from Sun arrives, revealing the Crown's crimes to Vacuo, causing the city to unite against them as well.

At her arrival in battle Gillian has a revelation about the Grimm's relation to Aura, she begs Jax to retreat with her, and to her horror, her brother tells her they'll win the fight or die in battle. Gillian begins to stop giving him Aura to convince him to run, but he uses his mind control to force her to give him Aura instead, draining all of her remaining strength away. As this happens, Yatsuhashi reveals himself and attacks Jax. Using her Semblance, Gillian transfers all of Jax's Aura to Yatsuhashi, and the younger Huntsman lobotomizes the Crown's leader, leaving Jax in a vegetative state. When Yatsuhashi asks why Gillian did it, she says she’d do anything for his brother, which is why she formed the Crown with him, but she didn’t want to die herself. Out of Aura, the Grimm begin to attack everyone again as Sun, Velvet, and Octavia return and help alongside a fully united Vacuo.

Days after the battle, the loyal Crown members had been arrested and the mind-controlled members were let go, the Beacon Brigade meets to celebrate their victory.
