Ace Operatives

Clover was the leader of the Ace Operatives. Even though they were a team, they only saw each other as co-workers instead of friends. Despite this, Clover's teammates did seem to be sad about his death.

Ironwood's Group

Clover was a member of Ironwood's group, whose initial goal was planning to restore global communications by replacing the CCTS by using Amity Colosseum as a satellite and tell the world about Salem. As a result, he was one of James Ironwood's most trusted individuals.

Atlas Academy

Clover was a student at Atlas and graduated as a member of the military.

Ironwood's Group

James Ironwood

Ironwood was Clover's superior. Clover had great trust and held respect for him. In "With Friends Like These", despite hearing Ruby's warning, Clover didn't betray Ironwood and was willing to follow his extremist methods and capture Qrow. After explaining to Qrow why he wouldn't betray Ironwood due it his faith in him, he was killed by Tyrian Callows. Right before he died however, Clover seemed to renounce his loyalty to Ironwood and wished Qrow good luck with stopping him.

Ace Operatives

Vine Zeki

Vine was Clover's teammate.

Elm Ederne

Elm was Clover's teammate. In "As Above, So Below", the two share a friendly handshake before dropping down to Mantle to stop the Grimm invasion.

Harriet Bree

Harriet was Clover's teammate, however is can be interpreted that there is something deeper between the two of them. The reasoning for this is because Harriet seemed to be more upset over Clover's death than she would be if they were indeed just teammates.

In "War", Lie Ren confirms with his Semblance that Clover's death affected Harriet much more than she let on.

Marrow Amin

"Don't take Marrow."

Marrow was Clover's teammate. In "Pomp and Circumstance", Marrow is shown to look up to Clover, imitating his expressions and posture when leaving the Schnee Dust Company Mine #2.

Clover found humor in Marrow's more childlike behavior, chuckling at him as Marrow dramatically tells an Atlas Soldier what happened in the mine.

Qrow Branwen

Qrow and Clover playing cards

Clover and his team apprehended Qrow in Mantle, following their unauthorized arrival in an airship. Once the group was released, Clover and his team apologized for the miscommunication, offering to start over. Clover is described as the kind of person that Qrow always wanted to be. At the beginning of their friendship, Qrow didn't really like Clover and found him irritating.[1]

Later, in "Ace Operatives", the two began developing a friendship, having been assigned on the mission to the Schnee Dust Company Mine #2 together. Qrow let Clover know about his Semblance of bringing misfortune, to which Clover comforted him by telling Qrow to not beat himself up over things and jokingly winks at him.

Clover respected Qrow, informing him that his Semblance doesn't define him, noting that Qrow is a good role model based on how he inspired and taught his nieces. Qrow began to warm up to the guy as a result of him pointing this out.

In "Sparks", Qrow and Clover were seen playing cards together, where Clover told Qrow the kids are lucky that they had him, and advises Qrow to not deflect compliments.

However, when Clover agreed to go along with Ironwood's plan in Worst Case Scenario, Qrow looked at him in shock, causing some distance to grow between them.[2]

Bad luck charm.

Before their fight, Clover tried to get Qrow to turn himself over in order to help Robyn in "With Friends Like These". Qrow retaliates by accusing Clover of manipulating him. Clover had no idea who he was up against with Tyrian Callows and thought of Qrow as the big threat while also believing that he was being manipulated by Tyrian Callows. As a result, he saw both Qrow and Tyrian on the wrong side of the law and felt like he had to fight both of them no matter what.[3]

The two grew close enough that when Tyrian murdered Clover with Qrow's weapon, Harbinger, that Qrow completely broke down, declaring a blood-curdling intent to kill the scorpion Faunus in revenge. Qrow found it crazy that he had met such a genuinely good person.[4]

Following Clover's death, Qrow kept his Clover badge to remember him by in "The Enemy of Trust". When Qrow tries to stop a bomb from destroying Mantle in "The Final Word", he uses Clover's badge to help him control his Semblance and thanks him for helping him stop it.

Ruby Rose

Ruby was one of the people the Ace-Ops captured in Mantle. Following her release, the team apologized for the inconvenience caused by their miscommunications. Clover and Ruby planned the mission to the Schnee Dust Company Mine #2 together along with Qrow and Jaune Arc. Following an encounter with a Geist, Clover tells Qrow he believes that his niece is quite talented.

Happy Huntresses

Robyn Hill

Stand-off in Solitas

Clover and Robyn appeared to have some history together, having a sense of familiarity with one another.

In "Sparks", Robyn blocked the escort Clover was assigned to take to the Schnee Dust Company Mine #2, demanding to know why Dust supplies aren't being given to Mantle. Clover attempted to dismiss the escort as a usual yearly check-up, but his bluff was seen through. This confrontation lead to a standoff between the Happy Huntresses and Clover's group. Clover reminded her she can find out through the proper legal channels, saying a fight wouldn't bode her election well, causing Robyn to let them through. Before leaving, Clover sincerely wished Robyn good luck in the elections.

Their relationship turned sour in "With Friends Like These", when Robyn accused Clover of aiding Ironwood, who she views as a tyrant, when he tried to peacefully arrest Qrow. Clover attempted to talk her down before she attacked him. After their airship crashed, Clover tried to get Qrow to turn himself over to help her.

After Clover was killed, Robyn saw Qrow as the better Huntsman of the two. She stated that it wasn't because he came out alive, but because Qrow actually chose to fight to do the right thing.

Salem's Inner Circle

Tyrian Callows

Out of luck.

Clover was tasked by Ironwood to investigate the murders across Mantle that had been framing him. After the events of "A Night Off", Clover realizes Tyrian was behind this.

During the attack in Mantle, Clover and Qrow help Robyn ambush Tyrian in an alleyway, where the Faunus is captured.

In "With Friends Like These", Tyrian helps Qrow fight off Clover, ultimately murdering him with Qrow's weapon, Harbinger. Clover believed Qrow to be the much bigger threat and thought that Tyrian was manipulating him. He saw both Qrow and Tyrian on the wrong side of the law and felt like he had to fight both of them no matter what.[5]
