Ruby: A Red stone.
Weiss: The German word for White.
Here is what we know about the names so far.
- They begin with the same letter as the color they are asscociated with, in english.
- The Names do not have to be English, seeing as Weiss is German.
- The names are some how relevantly connected to the color they represent. In both known cases, their name is a direct reference to their color. There doesn't seem to be much metaphor behind their meaning either.
There is also another interesting thing about the naming.
Weiss Schnee is literally "White Snow," and many attribute this to "Snow White." Interestingly, the tale of Snow White is in fact a German story to begin with.
The word Ruby is from the Old French word "rubi", which is supposidly "red," and guess where "Little Red Riding Hood" is from? France...
If this trend holds up, Black and Yellow are likely named for a word within the language that their "Fairy Tale" is orginated from.
