Team RWBY[]

Ruby Rose[]

The Blacksmith appears to have a special interest in Ruby as she singled her out amongst the members of Team RWBY. She summoned the Huntress to her domain and then altering it in the guise of a tent in the Garden. When Ruby express relief in seeing her friend's sword, believing it to be lost, the Blacksmith explains cryptically that nothing or no one is truly lost. However she was concerned that Ruby was lost and alone. Not only that she noticed Ruby was troubled and carrying a heavy burden. Despite the human's assurance, the Blacksmith laid down the offer to allow Ruby to lay down her burden in exchange to replace her missing weapon. Even when the offer was politely declined, the smith still held the offer open should Ruby change her mind before sending her back to the Garden.

The Blacksmith offering Ruby the option to become someone new

The Afteran would encounter Ruby again, when the huntress underwent Ascension, this time in the special plane within the Great Tree. The Blacksmith had expected Ruby to come to her, though commented that she did not expect them so soon. When Ruby who is unsure of her fate asks if she will die, the Blacksmith comforts her, telling her that the only thing that could happen to her was what she wants. Even when Ruby did not know what she wanted, the Blacksmith still wanted to help her find out. While traveling through the plane, the Blacksmith lent her ears to Ruby emotional struggles. After hearing that Ruby did not want to be herself anymore, the Blacksmith offered Ruby the options of being anyone by conjuring glass displays of weapons, each representing a new identity for Ruby to take.

Later, as shown during Ruby’s Ascension as she began contemplating her choices, the Blacksmith tried her best to gently and patiently guide Ruby through the choice, making it clear that the Blacksmith was not forcing herself on Ruby and that the choice lied with her completely and she encouraged her to choose a identity that will either allow her to leave their burdens behind or someone who is more than enough to bear their weight. With the Blacksmith making it clear that she will respect Ruby’s choice and use her powers to make it come true regardless of which option she decides.

The Blacksmith telling Ruby that maybe being herself was already enough

Later after Ruby decided not to abandon herself and simply be herself despite the hardships, the Blacksmith happily stated that perhaps being herself was already more than enough, reassuring Ruby and restoring her confidence as a Huntress and as a person.

Upon re-entering the Tree and going into her workshop, Ruby happily and comfortably spoke with the Blacksmith, with the latter answering all of her and her friends questions.

The Blacksmith explaining the good Ruby had unknowingly given to the Ever After

The Blacksmith would then reveal the history of The Gods and explain the great impact Ruby and her friends have had on the Ever After, as well as the good they had unknowingly given to the realm, the biggest being Ruby's kindness and friendship towards Little leading to their Ascension into Somewhat. The Blacksmith would then create a portal for Ruby and her friends, giving them assurance that it would take them when they are needed most. Ruby is the last to say farewell to the Afteran, thanking her for her help, which the Blacksmith responds with a small wave.

Afterans[]

Little/Somewhat[]

The Blacksmith took notice of Little after the mouse awoke from Ruby's hood and voice her concern that they and Ruby should not be in the Blacksmith's workshop. Little's presence with Ruby caused the Blacksmith to ask Little, who she referred as "little one", if they are Ruby's guide. She is satisfied when the mouse answers in the affirmative.

Later, after Little’s Ascension into Somewhat, the Blacksmith was marveled at their wonderful transformation triggered by their meeting with Ruby and her friends and of how such small acts of kindness and bravery can lead to such a transformation. The Blacksmith believes that they will have a huge impact on the future of the Ever After and is thankful for Ruby having triggered the creation of Somewhat.

In the "The Adventures of Somewhat", the Blacksmith tasked Somewhat with finding "what feels wrong" in the Ever After.

Curious Cat[]

During the Blacksmith's meeting with Team RWBY and Jaune, the Blacksmith shows pity for the Curious Cat. While knowing of their actions against everyone, she spoke with sadness in how the Cat was unable to ascend after their heart was broken by Alyx, this caused great harm to the Ever After.

Others[]

Jaune Arc[]

Upon meeting the Rusted Knight, the Blacksmith expressed that she had waited a long time to see him and was glad that he came. When asked to confirm the fate of Alyx and Lewis, the Blacksmith gave him a candid answer, giving the Huntsman closure on his two friends. Later its revealed that the reason the Blacksmith had been waiting for Jaune was to give him Alyx's dagger, which embodied a last wish from the deceased Alyx to restore what was broken. It in turn gave back Jaune the lost years he spent in the Ever After, restoring him to his youth.

The Gods[]

The Blacksmith shows a notable affection towards the Gods. During Team RWBY's visit alongside Jaune, the Blacksmith revealed the Brothers origins. Despite being aware of the Brothers' flaws and the disturbances they caused in the Ever After, the Blacksmith thinks highly of them and considers the two remarkable for going beyond their original roles. According to her, the Great Tree did not foresee what they would become but that the unexpectedness was the part of the joy of creating. Since then, as the Blacksmith explained that the Great Tree created a Door for the Brothers to leave, which would always remain open for not just their return but for any of the Brothers' creations.
