Arthur Curry is a main character who first appeared in RWBY/Justice League.
He is based on his DC Comics counterpart Aquaman.
He is a young Faunus man who has shoulder-length blond hair with a lavender streak that matches his eyes and a goatee. Arthur's Faunus trait is shark fins on his elbows and back. He wears an orange top, bronze metal bands on his upperarms and wrists, baggy green pants and brown boots with gold trim.
He cares for for sea creatures and his people in the sea deeply. He seems to distrust and hate all humans for kidnapping his Faunus people from the sea. He is willing to orders hi sea companions to kill Yang by drowning her without hesitation. He once saved Clark Kent in the past despite his hatred towards humans since he disliked how they treated him like a machine and bullied the weak. However, when Blake and Clark explain the situations to him, Arthur slowly starts to trust humans.
While Arthur distrusts humans, he even shows distrust towards Faunus if he believes them to be working for humans.
Powers and Abilities
Arthur is a strong combatant and leader. Capable of using a trident to block bullets, and using his leadership skills to use his fellow sea creatures abilities at their best.
He is the best and fastest swimmer of the Justice League.
- Main article: Telepathy
His Semblance gives him the ability to communicate with creatures via Telepathy, with Clark describing it as low-level telepathy. Though over time it grew stronger where he could detect Clark and the others from fifty feet below sea level. He could also sense the emotional state of animals and possibly command them, while sensing the innate powers of people and their weaknesses.
While Arthur and his Semblance aren't canon, he shares the same ability with Fox Alistair, though to a much lesser extent.
In the past, Arthur once saved Clark from the Dust Mines that he worked in, as the latter was manipulated to work a contract that left him too weak to move.
In recent times, Arthur noticed the disappearances of many Faunus and believed Humans to be the cause. He would attempt to find them and, during one night, he discovered Clark, Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna. Believing them to be the cause and using his power to discern their weaknesses and strengths, he attacked. Attempting to drown Yang and battling the others, when suddenly mind-controlled sea creatures attacked them all forcing Arthur to help them if they were to live.
After they win the fight, Blake tries to calm him down by revealing she's a Faunus, not that he cares much. Though when Clark asks if he recognized him, Arthur admits he does as he recalls saving him once but having to leave him. Clark then explains what was going on regarding the kidnappings with Arthur willing to accept it, and even reveals his Semblance as a sign of trust. The group then apologize with Arthur then going with them, all of them unaware of a group of mind-controlled Faunus hidden in the water.
Followed by the mind-controlled Faunus, the trio would reconvene with the remainder of Team RWBY and the rest of the Justice League in Vale. There, they were attacked by mind-controlled enemies: the Faunus following them, Team JNPR, and a Tentacle Grimm who all wore distinct masks. Quickly being overwhelmed, they are rescued by the Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz. After making an escape, Jessica explains her origin and reveals the existence of the alien conqueror, Starro, and his plans of world domination to the group as she shows a hologram of the universe, Remnant included. There, she enlists their help in stopping Starro, explaining Starro's intent to conquer the world through the use of powerful Semblances and the might of the Atlas Military.
Shortly after, Arthur takes the group to Atlantis, a city lost to time which is his home. There, they have a moment to rest while Arthur gathers intel from spies in Atlantis, discovering that Starro has aligned with Mr. Lloyd, and the two plan on taking the Dust weaponry to a hanger on the coast of Atlas. The group spends on last night in Atlantis to prepare and enjoy themselves, and in the next morning, set off for Atlas to face Starro.
Given how none of Team RWBY or most of the Justice League can fight in deep waters, the team hatches a plan to defeat Starro. Diana, being one of the few who can survive underwater, attacks Starro without being alerted due to being an Automaton, who does not register as human. With that, Arthur and Blake Belladonna draw Starro's forces to battle, where Victor Stone disables them with his technomancy Semblance. As the fight between Starro's forces and the Justice League wages, Starro calls on Team JNPR to provide himself aid.
As the Justice League’s battle against Starro continues, a mind-controlled Team JNPR joins the fray and does battle with their friends, Team RWBY. During the fight, Jessica Cruz’s mind is taken hold by Starro as she tries to help RWBY, and she begins to attack them. As the strongest member of the Justice League, Jessica uses her powers of creation to create images of Raven Branwen, Summer Rose, Adam Taurus, and Jacques Schnee to distract Team RWBY, and the various origins of the members of the Justice League. The Trinity of the Justice League escape the fight, and lure Starro into a Dust hanger off the coast of Atlas, exploding it with Starro inside, freeing the mind controlled victims.
