Attack on Kuroyuri[]
Prior to to the start of the series, An and her husband, Li Ren, lived in Kuroyuri with their son, Lie Ren. She is seen talking to Lie about getting a gift for her husband when he returns from hunting. She gives a small amount of Lien to her son so that he can go buy a gift from a merchant.
When the Nuckelavee attacks the village, she and her husband attempt to get their son to safety, however she is killed when the roof of their house collapses onto her.
