The song is played in the RWBY Volume 5 episode "Downfall", during Raven Branwen and Cinder Fall's fight. It is about both characters and combines their themes.^[1]

Trivia[]

One of the songs lyrics is "Bloody evolution" which is a callback to the lyric of the Volume 1 Opening: "Welcome to the world of bloody evolution." It is unclear if this was an intended connection or a simple coincidence.
The term "swan song" refers to a person's final activity of their career.
The lyrics "Gleefully voicing this eulogy, Spawn of the tenets of treachery" refers to Cinder's small talk of Raven's skills before she betrays and freezes her.
"Murder," "unkindness," and "conspiracy" are all terms used for groups of corvids.
