In another episode of my off-topic series, I wanted to take time to talk about the crappy remakes/reboots and sequels we've experienced! Tell us all about them, and maybe even throw in some sequels and remakes that were actually good!
This is meant to be about the ones that you took personally, which ones were you really looking forward to and they ended up feeling like a betrayal when they turned out bad?

Don't know if y'all played the Soulsborne game "Lies of P". I know I haven't... yet. But I happened to find this art piece of Penny as Pinocchio from the game and I thought it looked badass.
Apparently Bambi is based on a book, and said book is actually an allegory for surviving in times of oppression.

Not that I'd have ever known without Extra History.
Right off the bat, I feel the Kingdoms in Remnant should have governing bodies similar to our own in the real world. Because It give them a bit more individuality than just some sort of unspecified council.
Vale: Federal Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy
The fact Vale is meant to resemble Western European Countries like England, I think it would be suited for them to be run by a Parliamentary system. However, I think their system should be similar to Canada's because Vale doesn't seem to be the type of Kingdom to have a King as their leader. Maybe a Prime Minister.
Mistral: Unitary Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy
Now Mistral, on the other hand would definitely have a ruler at the helm. Because in the past, they had an Emperor rule over them all the way back during the Great War.
Atlas: One Party State.
I think it's rather obvious Atlas would definitely be a one-party state.
Vacuo: Confederation
With how Vacuo is, I think it being a confederacy of various tribes and bandits being in charge of different regions of the kingdom would be apt since it's a lawless society.
Here's a take I'm certain 99% of y'all will agree with me. The VIZ covers for RWBY reeks of execs at a corporation cutting corners. It's just the PNG of characters cropped out onto a black background. I'd like to know why VIZ couldn't use the original covers Rooster Teeth made? They own the rights to the IP, surely they could've gotten the artwork to go along with the original covers for each Volume.
What would you tell them to spark the most chaos? Just for fun.
Title says it all, the Curious Cat was indeed far more deserving of redemption than Neopolitan. Let's look at the facts, the Cat only appears in 1 season, while Neo has appeared in a handful Volumes/Seasons (2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9). The Curious Cat does try and manipulate Ruby into becoming a vessel so they can finally leave the Ever After and go to Remnant, however, there's an underlining tragedy behind their motive. Because they themselves were cursed with curiosity and felt their mission in the Ever After had been fullfilled or was getting stagnant, and them being lied to by Alyx.
While Neo on the other hand, on several occasions has tried to kill the heroes, using deceitful tactics to get what she wants (or attempts to at least), and even emotionally tortured Ruby into nearly committing ascension. Ruby could've offered some sort of reassurance to the Cat that the Ever After needs them to help guide the other Afterians into ascend into new forms. It doesn't feel right for Ruby to forgive Neo for all the horrible things the latter has done and not offer some forgiveness to the Curious Cat.

It's good to see somewhat big-name youtube channels giving RWBY some attention. Hopefully this can help drum up hype for Volume 10.
This is definitely a mild take, but honestly I think there should be a specific timeline of the events of RWBY. Sometime ago, Miles said he didn't want to assign specific dates because he wanted to prevent plot holes and focus on the story. To that I say: you're gonna run into plot holes regardless of whether or not you have a timeline. Any story's gonna have its fair share of issues, whether or not it's written well.
The main reason why I think there should be an assign timeline because it would help gauge when the events happened in the story, and we could gauge how old the characters are. Not to mention, in a fantasy story like RWBY, you can get creative and name it a specific era/age. Like you could set the story in the year 2200 AGD (After Gods' Depature). Or you could call the age Ruby and her friends live in the Age of Innovation.
Once I saw this I have not yet been able to unsee it
Dammit, the whole thing didn't appear. Be sure to click on the image.

Okay, this post might be weird, so bear with me. I mean this with as much good faith as possible. But anyway, to me, the writing quality of RWBY is like eating a cheeseburger from a favorite fast food establishment, and that's alright. Now, what do I mean by this? Well, RWBY is first and foremost an entertaining show, and a hamburger from a fast food place is first and foremost tasty (or at least adequately tasty).
I would be remiss if I said there isn't some good character development and good moments in RWBY as there is some nutritional value in a burger. I feel like a lot of the times the show's writing relies way too heavily on plot armor, plot conveniences, and deus ex machinas in order to make the show "work." Those to me are empty calories from all the additives that are pumped in the burgers in order to make them "taste good."
Basically what I'm trying to get at is, I'm trying to find an adequate metaphor about how I feel about the show's writing and how I've grown to accept it.

A) Ruby's the one to defeat Lionheart at Haven, by sniping him with Crescent Rose and breaking his Aura.
B) Weiss' Queen Lancer avatar goes down surprisingly quickly against Hazel.
C) Blake's surprisingly good at hand-to-hand combat. She manages to punch out Ilia and Trifa, and hits Adam over the head. Second to Yang, she's probably the best fist fighter on Team RWBY.
D) Yang learned to suppress her rage and tendency to lash out by the Battle of Haven, where she manages to calmly detach her arm rather than stay and fight Mercury.

Time to protest with EVERYTHING available. And mere marching won't cut it.
The other day, I saw on my google news feed that RWBY was coming to Hulu in July. Now, I don't want to be spreading misinformation, but rumor has it someone leaked the new line up of shows coming to Hulu and RWBY was among those shows, but the reveal was quickly taken down afterwards.

So if it's true and RWBY is returning to streaming then I'm actually kind of excited.

Still way too much money, but it's more substantial action than I expected in modern corporate America.
