Well for one, the writers can keep the show going without having Salem go out of her way to keep Ruby alive.
Yeah the opening sequence gave it away. Also, looks like Watts was right the whole time, he really is much smarter than Pietro.
Honestly, I'd be fine with it if it we actually saw more of Ruby not being able to control her Silver Eyes. Right now, SE just feels like a lazy excuse to have our main characters get out of sticky situations. When the plot demands it, Ruby is just conveniently able to use her SE save the day. The show doesn't actually give me the feeling that she can't control it, even though it is explicitly stated. If we see more of Ruby needing SE in a particular moment but being unable to use it, maybe it wouldn't be such a terrible plot point. It shouldn't just be "Ruby can't control her SE, but when she needs it, it will work 100% of the time!"
Okay so sorry for the necropost but I really need to say some stuff about this chapter, because there are some serious writing flaws.
So we begin the chapter with Robyn blaming Jacques for everything, which is just dumb. As far as I know, Robyn was more of a culprit as she made the plane crash and basically freed Tyrian. Also, Qrow wants to kill Ironwood for some reason. Even though the three people he should be blaming for Clover's death and his imprisonment are himself, Robyn, and Tyrian.
Also, at the end, what were Yang, Jaune, and Ren doing when Oscar was getting fucked to death by the grimm dog? They all just stood there doing nothing until about 10 seconds after he loses his aura.
Name: Wisp
Inspiration: Will o' Wisp
Environment: Deep forests
Appearance: Imp-like species of Grimm with a floating tail of smoke instead of legs. Completely black except for its eyes and mouth which glow red. Bears a glowing flame on its head.
Armorings: Crown of sharp teeth on its head (kinda like the "mouth" of the seer or whatever)
Aesthetics: Has a glowing flame on its head, lower half of the body is completely shrouded in smoke
Behavior: Wisps are primarily nocturnal and use the flame on their heads to lure in humans/faunus. Wisps usually hunt in groups but generally prefer to target one prey at a time. They are also cruel and love to torment their prey before taking them.
Attacks: Wisps can induce hallucinations when someone stares into their light, usually of a lost loved one or something to lure them in. They will usually twist the hallucatinations into more demented forms when the chosen prey approaches the Wisp(s). Can also send psychic waves that may subtly influence one's emotional state.
Weaknesses: If the flame on its head is extinguished, the Wisp will die.
Notes: The lights of Wisps also attract other Grimm.
So, I overall agree with what you say, but as an asexual biromantic person, I have to disagree with sex being a defining factor or necessary goal in a relationship.
While I respect your sexual orientation, sex is everything. It's the entire point of sentient existence. Without it, we would literally cease to exist, and the only living things left on this planet would be microbacteria, algae, and worms. Which, admittedly, would be better, seeing as how microbacteria are the true rulers of this planet and are superior to us in every way imaginable (a conversation for another day perhaps).
Sex is not only the defining goal of a relationship (and the entire, primaeval reason we naturally gravitate towards relationships), it's the defining goal of all cognitively advanced multicellular life on this planet.
People drive themselves mad asking the fundamental question: what is the point of life? The answer always seemed obvious to me: to make more life. And sex is how we humans do that.
Granted, you don't have to participate if you don't want to. It's more of a collective effort at the end of the day, anyway.
Nerd rant: over.
I disagree. There is way more to life and relationships than just sex. If that's your definition of a relationship, you might as well just go ahead and pay some bar stripper to fuck her and it would literally be the exact same thing. You see now why this kind of mentality is dumb? Generally we try to censor such subjects in media for a good reason, and it is hardly the thing anyone expects when watching rwby. I have no clue what you were expecting but I don't think anyone watches rwby for sexual content, and I don't know why such an important thing is so important for you in an animated series.
That's going to give you the most versatility on tap.
Yeah I was thinking that too.
This random thought just popped into my head but what about a pistol that uses dust bullets?
Fire- bullet acts like fireball
Ice- AOE becomes frozen
Rock- causes stone spikes to explode out of the AOE
Hard-light- creates 'shield' to pin something down (kind of like Ironwood vs Watts)
Lightning: sends an electric shock on impact and stuns target(s)
Gravity: no clue
Then again I don't watch mecha anime, so what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The action was only half the problem, the writing also didn't make much sense. The robot and characters are randomly nerfed or made powerful to make specific scenes happen and it just feels so staged and unnatural. Also the entire fight felt kinda boring and I didn't really feel any stakes, which is usually something that I never feel in any RWBY fight (except for some of the Grimm ones, but those aren't really meant to be real fights so they don't count).
Unpopular opinion but I also didn't really like the mech fight in terms of the writing, the scenes where the robot just slowly walks towards the characters as they converse on how to defeat it are just underwhelming, and the robot's strength is like the most inconsistent thing ever.
Quite contrarily, everything is pointing to Summer being DEAD. She literally has a grave and Ruby literally cried over her. I doubt she's alive, and I'm glad she isn't, because if she was we would probably get a scene where Salem is about to do whatever she wanted to on Ruby and then Summer just SWOOPS in out of nowhere and saves Ruby which would be trash writing, but knowing RT, there's like a 50/50 chance that they'll do something dumb with Summer's character if she is alive. Which she isn't.
Who do you know who doesn't want Ironwood and Cinder dead?
A surprising amount of people actually like Ironwood and say that he carried V7, probably because they don't see him as necessarily much of a mary-sue as many people see Team RWBY.
As for me, I don't really care if he lives or dies, because either way works for me. He can be a good character if he lives, or they can just kill him off. Cinder, all I have to say. Please end her. For good. But knowing RT they probably won't because... well, literally no clue. I unironically haven't met a single person who has said "Yes, I genuinely believe Cinder is a good, well-written villain". I really don't know why they can't kill her off.
If Penny lives, she'll most likely just keep getting her character omega-nerfed for the duration of the series, so there's pretty much no good outcome for her.
Yeah most of what you said made sense.
1. Nobody cares, my buddy.
2. It got better in Seasons 6 and 7.
3. They do have wrinkles? Unless you mean characters like Jacques or Ironwood, but they're not THAT old.
4. Tournament ended four volumes ago, my buddy. Beacon too. Did you like, literally go on a 4-year hibernation and just wake up to post this? Why is all this stuff so outdated.
5. They had to escape Adam because I don't know about you but I'm pretty sure Yang valued her life more than her arm.
6. Again, her Yangsting over her arm isn't really a thing anymore. I don't know what you're trying to get at with this, but I guess I kinda sorta not really agree? I agree characters don't get fleshed out enough *cough* Clover *cough* but like your example was pretty bad, no offense.
2. Shadow Hands make great prosthetics if you don't mind looking like a freak.
3. Oscar would have died from the blast if Ozma didn't become "active" in his body.
4. Ironwood really lost it after all.
1. We don't really know if more will come, it might just be the monkeys and the whale thing whatever.
2. No lol, they're grimm, they're worse than mechanical parts because you can't protect it with Aura.
3. No shit lol, he would've died from the fall. Also technically Ozpin I think.
4. Yeah he kinda did. But like, shooting Oscar was a very badass scene :D
We're talking about the scenario in which Ironwood successfully executes his plan, which RT will most certainly not allow for the love of god, but is nonetheless an entertaining prospect.
Honestly, moralistic views aside, what is the statistical probability of Ironwood's plan working? I would imagine its very low. A better plan would be to just move Atlas away from Mantle where he has time to regroup, and just use the Relic to launch Amity into space. There's no way they would sruvive in space, unless there somehow exists "space water", which is pretty improbable because well, it's space. In which case the plants and people would die of thirst. And yeah not to mention dust, his plan is just a hot mess, and it really sucks that its essentially the only plan that the protagonists have currently.
You added an unnecessary comma, and now I'm imagining... absolutely nothing :D
