I mean, that makes sense too, although not all things fit that well. Reveals should be thought out, but at the same point I'd say namedrops need to be handled well too. "Wait, Leo? Who's Leo?" If they didn't answer it the next episode like they did (or have a bunch of dedicated theorists instantly figure that shizz out), that would've been poorly handled.
Both have an intent and need planning. Name reveals and Semblances are some of the more important thngs we can learn for characters. In the case of Ilia, that was where a name reveal was necessary in my opinion. They introduced her without a name in Ep. 8 with little context, gave us a week to draw up theories, and then go back and give us an answer...whether we were right or not. In that case, a reveal was necessary.
Maybe they didn't do it since there was already a ton of namedropping this season. Sienna Khan, Whitley & Jacques, OSCAR, all the new villains [Tyrian, Watts, & Hazel], Ilia, the Albain twins, Lionheart, Ren's parents. "Just another name" wouldn't have much substance in that case.
